Riverboarding

Home GO BIG WHITEWATER is currently only one of five commercial riverboarding companies in the United States. Riverboarding In fact, riverboarding is the reason we actually started this company. The riverboard was originally designed for swiftwater rescue by Bob Carlson, who as a long time rafter was looking for something a little more exciting. In other parts of the world, it is sometimes known as hydrospeed. Riverboarding allows you to be one on one with the whitewater. No one is telling you when or how to paddle. It is all about you and the river!!! Riverboarding is a high-speed adrenaline driven sport, while at the same time one of the safest things you can do on the river (while still getting wet that is).

"Huh?", you ask? "How can that be?"

Well, believe it or not, on a riverboard you are more suited to be in the water than anyone else on the river. You have fins for propulsion, a drysuit for warmth and protection, a helmet for your noggin, and a riverboard for flotation. When riverboarding, you can play in big holes and bodysurf in places where normal rafts might flip.

So, how do you get to do this awesome sport? Read on and start planning.

RICH RIVERBOARDING
RIVERBOARDING
You might look pretty goofy on land...
We take a maximum of eight riverboarding customers down the river at one time.
but when you're having this much fun, who cares...

There is always an oar framed boat on the trip for safety, and we average a three to one customer to guide ratio. RIVERBOARDING Before each rapid, we eddy out (stop on the side of the river) and talk about the rapid ahead.
There will be a riverboard guide in the front of the group, one somewhere in the middle, and always one pulling up the ranks from behind. But remember, you are on your own riverboard by yourself!!! You get to decide your line through the whitewater. Each riverboard guide carries a throwbag and hydration pack. The support boat carries additional water, personal items, first aid kit, snacks and even your favorite stuffed animal from home if you would like.
So go ahead. GO BIG!!!
