You have two options on how to get to the Tieton. The first one is faster, the second one is prettier. You will want to leave Seattle 3 hours before the meet time. Check with your organizer if you're not sure when you meet, or give us a call at 888-979-9600. You will want to bring some food and beverages for when you get off the river. If you are camping, bring the food and supplies that you will need, as the store in town is somewhat lacking. We will have all of the gear you need, but it is always a good idea to bring fleece and/or polypro long underwear.

1. SLIGHTLY FASTER BORING DRIVE: From Seattle, take I-90 Eastbound about 105 miles to the I-82 split. Turn right onto I-82 (South) and at Exit 31, turn right (WEST) onto US-12. You will pass through the town of Rimrock - don't blink, you might miss it - and keep driving until you see signs for Tieton Road (you will also see signs for Camp Ghormley and Soup Creek here). Turn left, go over the bridge, and take the first major dirt road (Forest Service Road 508). Look for the GO BIG signs.

Warning: If you drive up the lake, you have missed Tieton Road. Turn around and go back down the hill and try again.

2. MUCH MORE SCENIC ROUTE: From Seattle, take I-5 South to I-405 heading East. Follow I-405 about 6 miles to SR-169 heading towards Enumclaw. Follow this road about 27 miles to Enumclaw. (You need to pay close attention when you get to Enumclaw - there is a left turn through town to get to the next freeway.) When you get to the T in the road, go left onto SR-410 (Roosevelt Ave) heading East. (For those of you who have been to Crystal, this will be familiar.) Follow SR-410 until it splits - about 40 miles from town. You want to bear Right onto HWY-123. When you get to the end of HWY-123, turn left onto HWY-12 towards White Pass. From the top of the pass it is 17.4 miles to your turnoff. You will pass a big lake and go through a tunnel. You want to take a right on Tieton Road (you will also see signs for Camp Ghormley and Soup Creek here). Go over the bridge, and take the first major dirt road (Forest Service Road 508). Look for the GO BIG signs.
